Words from Christine’s Dad:
I believe our story is not uncommon, echoing the experiences of many others. We were completely unaware that Christine was harbouring a serious illness, and the news of her diagnosis with Ewing Sarcoma came as an overwhelming shock to both me and my wife. What we initially dismissed as growing pains and a minor hip issue swiftly unfolded into a daunting reality.
The day we received the diagnosis was nothing short of devastating. The enormity of the situation hit us hard, particularly when we learned that Christine was facing stage 4 Ewing Sarcoma. However, fast forward six months, and our outlook has undergone a remarkable transformation Chemo and radiation therapy have allowed us to gain some hope over Christine’s condition, though uncertainty still looms over the future.
Navigating through such diagnoses is akin to embarking on a journey with an indeterminate destination. Yet, amidst the uncertainty, we cling to hope and prayer, fervently wishing for positive outcomes and for Christine to emerge victorious, free from cancer.
In our journey, a tremendous source of support emanates from fellow parents who intimately understand the challenges we face. Sharing experiences over coffee often feels like attending group therapy sessions, reaffirming that we are not alone in our struggles. Witnessing others who have triumphed over similar adversities provides us with much-needed inspiration and encouragement.
I am deeply grateful for the invaluable assistance provided by your organisation during our times of need. Your unwavering support, whether through emails, guidance, or financial aid, has been instrumental in helping us.
Thank you, and please continue to stand by us as we journey towards healing.
